Dine for the Diner
St. Joseph Diner, known for feeding the hungry in Acadiana since 1983, is hosting its annual fundraising event on Thursday, May 18, 2017. The community will be encouraged to eat out to end hunger at participating area restaurants. This is a unique opportunity for restaurants to fill up their tables and for our supporters in the community to help feed the hungry.
WHY IS ST. JOSEPH DINER IMPORTANT TO ACADIANA?
St. Joseph Diner is one of 6 programs of Catholic Services of Acadiana that provides essential services to people experiencing homelessness in our area. On average St. Joseph Diner shares over 100,000 meals with the hungry each year. In addition to providing a free meal at lunch everyday, the Diner creates a shared community space where volunteers and staff can engage with patrons – learning their names and their needs to assist them on their journey to self-sufficiency. These services would be impossible without the support of the community and the generosity of the restaurants participating in this event.
