We were reminded again this week on the Acadiana Outdoor report with Glenn Hebert that all fishing license need to be renewed as of July 1. The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries website states: “Recreational fishing and hunting licenses may be purchased online with the E-License option. The E-License can be printed using your own printer for immediate use or save the PDF of licenses purchased to the electronic device you take with you or by telephone using Visa or MasterCard. Call toll free 1-888-765-2602. An authorization number for immediate use will be provided and licenses will be mailed to the licensee. A SERVICE FEE IS CHARGED.”
If you us a smart phone, Laptop, or tablet for purchase of a license you will not receive a license in the mail. You will will receive a text with a temporary authorization number, followed by an email with the temporary authorization number and a PDF of your license which can be saved and printed.
LIFETIME HUNTING AND FISHING LICENSE are available only through the Baton Rouge Office. For additional information call (225)765-2887.
Also Mr Glenn gave us an update on the CCA Star Tournament. We went to the CCA STAR website to get the full update: “The 2017 STAR is well underway and has seen seven tagged redfish caught in the first month of competition. There has only been one winner, however, as Jason Toombs brought in his tagged redfish the first week of June while fishing in Lafitte. As he has done every year but one, he registered for STAR before he ever hit the water. His afternoon fishing excursion landed him a brand new 2017 Chevy Silverado.
As of today, six other anglers were not as lucky as they were not registered in STAR before landing their tagged redfish.
There are still 93 tagged redfish out there waiting to be caught with another truck and boat packages waiting to be awarded. It’s never too late, sign up for STAR before you leave the dock!”
