Netflix is Terminating Inactive Accounts

Netflix has begun terminating inactive accounts.

The company announced that it is notifying customers that have accounts that have been inactive for 12 months or more.  Netflix is asking customers if they want to continue their service, but if the customer does not respond, the company will automatically cancel their subscription.

Netflix says the inactive accounts make up less than 0.5% of its overall member base, representing “only a few hundred thousand people.”  Once the company terminates an inactive account, it will keep favorites, profiles, and account details for 10 months in case the customer decides to reinstate their account.
