Ronnie Dunn was one-half of the most successful duos in country music, along with Kix Brooks. He was born Ronald Gene Dunn in Coleman, Texas. Growing up the son of an oilfield worker, he attended twelve different schools.
Ronnie had to make a choice when he got to Abilene Christian to study psychology. The university made him choose between music and college. Thankfully for all of us, even though while in college he served as a music and youth minister at Avoca Baptist Church in Avoca, Texas, Ronnie moved to Tulsa and later Nashville.
In Nashville, Ronnie met Kix Brooks and they formed the duo, Brooks and Dunn. Thirty million albums and twenty number ones, they definitely have a place in the Pure Country Hall of Fame.
