Apple Fined Millions in Italy Over Misleading Waterproof iPhone Claims

Italy’s competition regulator fined Apple millions over misleading claims about the water-resistance of its iPhones.

According to Business Insider, the company was fined 10 million euros, which is about $12 million USD.  Italy’s competition regulator says the company’s claims about the phones’ water resistance were only true under laboratory conditions.  It also said Apple’s warranty terms were misleading as they were voided if the phone was damaged by liquids and the company failed to repair phones that had been damaged by liquids.
