Garth Brooks Receives Kennedy Center Honor

Garth Brooks has recently been honored with a Kennedy Center Honor. The prize that was announced on Wednesday, January 13th is special. Brooks is just the ninth country artist to receive the Kennedy Center Honors. And, at 58, he’s the youngest country artist ever to receive the honor. Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein said:

 
 

“The Kennedy Center Honors serves as a moment to celebrate the remarkable artists who have spent their lives elevating the cultural history of our nation and world,”

 
 

Garth’s classmates in 2021 are Debbie Allen, Joan Baez, Midori, and Dick Van Dyke. The other eight-country artists are Roy Acuff, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Reba McEntire.
