Woman Accused of Trying to Kill Dinner Date Because He Couldn’t Pay

Las Vegas police say a woman tried to kill her dinner date when he couldn’t pay for their meal.

According to authorities, 43-year-old Kimberly Marika Johnson became upset with her dinner date at Jerry’s Nugget when he didn’t have enough money to pay for the meal.  The two allegedly began arguing when Johnson discovered the man only had $5 in his pocket.

Police say Johnson made her date walk 2 1/2 miles back to his apartment, followed him there, and lit his apartment on fire.  At one point, police said Johnson used a hammer to break windows of the apartment and threw her flaming purse inside.

The man says Johnson was high on crystal meth.  She was arrested on charges of attempted murder and arson.
