Four Arrested for $100K Pokémon Card Heist in Burbank

On December 2, 2025, Brian Chavez (22), Jeremy Lopez (22), Marco Barrongil (26), and Elijah Garcia (27) allegedly broke into LA Sports Cards at 1922 W. Olive Ave., Burbank, using a crowbar and power tools. Police say they stole around $100,000 worth of Pokémon and sports cards, including a rare Cristiano Ronaldo card valued at $100K.

The burglary lasted only two minutes, with the suspects tossing boxes of Pokémon cards into trash bags. Surveillance footage helped Burbank PD track down the suspects, and search warrants led to evidence linking them to the crime.

The case has been forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for formal charges.

Store owner Kiet Nguyen described the theft as deeply personal, saying, “This is like our home. Feels like someone went in our home, ransacked our things.”

No additional details on the suspects’ bail or court dates were provided.
