Southern California isn’t completely in the clear yet, as gusty Santa Ana winds continue to pose a risk.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for parts of Los Angeles, Ventura, and San Bernardino counties through early Sunday morning, with gusts up to 45 mph possible in some valley and foothill areas.
Temperatures are also on the rise. Overnight lows will dip into the 30s and 40s, while daytime highs are expected to climb 2 to 3 degrees each day through the weekend. By Sunday, coastal areas like Santa Monica could reach 78 degrees, and inland Orange County may hit the upper 70s.
“If you can get to the coast on Sunday, I highly suggest you do so,” Goldberg said.
Surf conditions will remain modest, with 2- to 4-foot breakers along L.A. County beaches and smaller sets in Orange County.
The warming trend will accelerate next week as a high-pressure ridge builds, blocking incoming cold fronts.
“We’ll see upper 70s, some low 80s … maybe up to 82 degrees in some communities,” Goldberg said, highlighting Wednesday and Thursday as the warmest stretch.
