A 25-year-old woman died early Monday morning after a vehicle struck her on South Union Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP said officers responded around 6:17 a.m. on January 12, 2026, to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 5300 block of South Union Avenue, south of Calle De Oro.

The Toyota struck the pedestrian, causing critical injuries. Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
CHP said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities said it is not yet known whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
