Two people were hospitalized Monday morning after a fire broke out at a rural home in Nevada County.
Officials with the Nevada County Consolidated Fire Department said multiple agencies responded to the scene along Moroni Lane, west of Colfax and south of Grass Valley, shortly after 9:30 a.m.
Firefighters located two burn victims at the scene. One victim was transported to a local hospital, while the other was taken to a burn center for specialized care.
Authorities have not released additional information about the victims’ conditions.
Crews contained the fire before it could spread to nearby properties.
Investigators are now working to determine the cause of the fire.
