Kiefer Sutherland Arrested for Alleged Assault on Rideshare Driver in Hollywood

Actor Kiefer Sutherland, 59, was arrested on Jan. 12 after allegedly assaulting a rideshare driver in Hollywood.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to reports of an assault near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue around 12:15 a.m. Following an investigation, police said Sutherland entered a rideshare vehicle and physically assaulted the driver while making criminal threats.

Authorities confirmed the driver did not sustain injuries requiring medical attention. Sutherland was arrested at the scene and later released on $50,000 bond. A court hearing is scheduled for Feb. 2.

Details on what led to the confrontation have not been released. The LAPD Hollywood Division continues to investigate.

Sutherland, a two-time Emmy-winning actor, is widely recognized for his role as Jack Bauer in the Fox series 24. He also starred in iconic films including Stand by Me, The Lost Boys, Young Guns, and A Few Good Men.
