Suspect wanted for armed robbery shooting that killed 34-year-old man in Long Beach

Police are seeking a suspect in an armed robbery that left a Long Beach man dead.

On June 27, 2025, just before 8 p.m., Long Beach police responded to a shooting on the 5400 block of Paramount Boulevard.

Officers found 34-year-old Dajion Hunter with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The shooter, described only as an adult male, fled before police arrived. Detectives say the shooting followed a robbery that escalated violently.

Surveillance video released on Jan. 14, 2026, shows the suspect walking in a nearby parking lot minutes before the shooting.

He is described as a Black man in his 20s or 30s, last seen wearing a light blue or teal hat, red shirt, light-colored zip-up hoodie, blue jeans, and dark shoes.

Detectives believe the suspect may frequent the Northpointe Apartments on the 5400 block of Paramount Boulevard.
