One person died, and several others were injured in a 17-vehicle pile-up on Highway 99 Sunday morning.
CHP officers responded to the crash just south of North Avenue around 9:15 a.m. The collision involved multiple vehicles, including a commercial travel trailer.
Authorities confirmed one fatality and reported several people sustained injuries. Multiple ambulances and a Fresno Fax bus transported the injured to a nearby hospital.
CHP officials believe dense fog was the main factor in the crash.
Highway 99 is expected to remain closed for several hours as cleanup and investigation continue.
