A person died after being struck by a vehicle in Sacramento County on Friday.
The California Highway Patrol reported that just before 7 a.m., an eastbound driver on Folsom Boulevard hit a person near Tiber Way. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk, officers said.
While the driver who struck the person stopped immediately, authorities are investigating whether a second vehicle may have also run over the individual and fled the scene.
The person later died at a hospital. No further details about the victim have been released.
