A 15-year-old boy was taken into police custody Monday morning after allegedly shooting and injuring his father, authorities confirmed.
The Plano Police Department said dispatchers received a call around 8:25 a.m. reporting a shooting at a home in the 4500 block of Sandy Water Lane. The caller, who was also the victim, reported that his son had shot him.
Officers arrived at the scene and detained the teenager. Police said the victim was transported to a hospital, though his condition was not immediately known.
Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public and that the investigation remains active.
