A man riding an e-bike suffered serious injuries in a crash Monday night on Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach.
According to the Hermosa Beach Police Department, the crash occurred around 7 p.m. near the 1800 block of PCH.
Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim, identified only as a man in his 50s, with serious injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital and was reported to be in serious condition.
During the investigation, police determined the crash happened when a driver swerved into the center lane to avoid hitting stopped traffic.
“As the driver swerved, he struck a man in his 50s who was riding an e-bike,” police said.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Pacific Coast Highway was expected to remain closed for several hours as authorities continued their work.
