A Lakeland man faces felony charges after allegedly using his employer’s credit card for personal purchases.
Steven Douglas Carter, 37, was arrested Tuesday, January 13, at his home on Kinsman Way by Polk County deputies. Authorities say the investigation began in July 2025 when Carter’s employer noticed suspicious activity on the corporate card.
Detectives reviewed financial records and found unauthorized transactions totaling $2,179.61. A warrant was issued, and deputies took Carter into custody without incident.
He was booked into the Sheriff’s Processing Center and now faces felony charges, including Scheming to Defraud and Grand Theft.
