Amy Slaton Halterman Pleads Guilty to Drug Charges After Safari Park Incident

Amy Slaton Halterman, a star of the reality TV show 1000-lb Sisters, recently pleaded guilty to drug charges after an incident at a safari park in Tennessee. She called the police to report that a camel had bitten her, but when deputies arrived, they found her car filled with marijuana, mushrooms, and her two kids.

As part of a plea agreement, Amy and her co-defendant, Brian Scott Lovvorn, were sentenced to two years of probation, required to pay $1,000, and banned from the Tennessee Safari Park. A felony marijuana charge was reduced to a lesser charge of simple possession, and two charges of child neglect were dropped.

The incident took place at a drive-through safari park, where visitors can see animals like camels up close from their cars. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies noticed a strong odor coming from Amy’s car, which led them to find the drugs and put her children in danger.

Both Amy and Brian were taken to jail on charges of child endangerment and drug possession.

Amy, who has lost almost 200 pounds and is a mother of two, has been open about her struggles with mental health, especially after her divorce from her children’s father last year.
