CASPER, Wyo. — Ashley Bright, the CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming BGCCW, is celebrating 25 years of dedicated service to the organization.
Bright began his journey with the Boys & Girls Clubs in 1991 as the program director at the East Side Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tacoma/Pierce in Washington. Just two years later, he advanced to the role of assistant executive director.
In 1996, Bright moved to Montana to lead the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Montana before taking on the CEO role at BGCCW in 1999. Under his leadership, the organization has seen significant growth and expansion.
Notable milestones include the opening of a new 36,000-square-foot facility in 2004, the expansion into Buffalo, Wyoming, in 2016, and the establishment of a presence in Dubois in 2019.
In 2022, a new facility in Glenrock increased daily membership by 35%. Most recently, the club secured a 34,675-square-foot building in Riverton after launching a $2.5 million campaign.
In addition to physical expansions, Bright has spearheaded innovative programs. In 2014, the organization opened a boxing facility and launched Wyoming’s first financial literacy center for youth, Young AmeriTowne: WyoTowne, which has since expanded its reach to five counties.
Bright’s tenure has seen the organization’s assets grow from $348,000 to over $14 million, serving four counties and five communities, with a membership of 3,300 and a total of 13,000 youth served annually.
As the executive director of the BGCCW Foundation, Bright has launched a $15.7 million sustainability campaign, earning numerous accolades for his contributions to the organization and the community.
His honors include the Herman S. Prescott Award for the Southwest Region this year, the Southwest Region’s Executive of the Year in 2005, the Wyoming Community Foundation’s Tony Cate Service Award in 2017, as well as the BGCA’s Southwesterner Legacy Award and Blue Spirit Award in 2018.
Bright is deeply committed to serving children, youth, and families, with a vision of building beloved communities in Central Wyoming. He is also a devoted follower of Christ, married, and a father of five, with three sons-in-law and three grandchildren, with another grandchild on the way.
