Class AAA Play-In Games Canceled as WV Supreme Court Expedites Playoffs Case

The West Virginia Supreme Court has expedited the case regarding the state high school playoffs, bringing it closer to a resolution.

The court has ordered a response by Monday, Nov. 18, from the attorneys in the Mason and Wood County cases.

After the deadline, the court will review the cases, with a decision expected early next week.

As a result, the Class AAA play-in games originally set for Saturday have been canceled, while a Class A play-in game between Tolsia and St. Marys is now tentatively scheduled for Tuesday evening at Herbert Hoover.

The WVSSAC filed a writ of prohibition earlier this week due to multiple injunctions that had delayed the playoffs’ start.
