This week, dry weather will take over the Pacific Northwest because of a high-pressure system. Inland areas, like the Columbia River Gorge and parts of the Willamette Valley, will have fog and low clouds, along with cooler-than-usual temperatures.
On the other hand, coastal and higher regions will enjoy sunny and mild weather through Wednesday.
Rain is expected to arrive by late Wednesday as weather patterns change, with a chance of more rain over the weekend.
Snow will stay at higher elevations, so Cascade passes won’t see snow just yet. Cities like Salem and Eugene might experience near-record temperatures, and Portland’s airport has a slight chance of reaching 60°F on Friday.
While the exact timing of rain is still uncertain, wetter weather is expected as the weekend approaches. Be ready for a weather shift!
