Danielle Gibbs Appointed Magistrate in Delaware’s Court of Chancery

Danielle Gibbs has served as the chief legal advisor to Governor John Carney for the past eight years and was previously the Chief Deputy Attorney General. While her office will be in Wilmington, she is expected to handle cases throughout the state.

Gibbs is one of two new Magistrates in Chancery recently approved and funded. The other, Magistrate Christian Douglas Wright, joined the court last month.

Chancellor Kathaleen St. J. McCormick praised Gibbs, saying, We are very fortunate to welcome another outstanding attorney to the Magistrate role. Gibbs brings extensive experience, having worked in top legal positions in the state and litigated in the Court of Chancery for 16 years. She will be a valuable addition to the court, and I’m honored to have her on the bench.

Gibbs has also contributed to Delaware’s legal system through her involvement with the Supreme Court and Court of Chancery’s rules committees, as well as the Delaware State Bar Association’s Executive and Nominating committees.

Chancellor McCormick also mentioned the growth in Delaware’s corporate business, highlighting that the Court of Chancery is handling more and more complex cases. She thanked the Chief Justice, General Assembly, and Governor for their ongoing support in helping the court keep up with this increased demand.
