Imagine looking for your dog and then spotting it in your backyard, playfully interacting with a wild black bear. That’s exactly what happened to Jenn Sargent, a Vermont resident, who was shocked to see her German shepherd, Jameson, having a playful encounter with a young bear.
Thankfully, the bear and the dog were more interested in playing than fighting. Jenn’s neighbor first noticed the bear and called her to let her know about the unusual backyard visitor. We might as well give Jenn’s neighbor the Neighbor of the Year award for the heads-up.
It must have been quite the conversation: Hey Jenn! I might be imagining things, but I’m pretty sure your dog is playing with a bear in your backyard. It looks like something out of a Disney movie. Just thought you should know!
In the video, the young bear stands on its hind legs while Jameson, full of energy, runs around excitedly. The two also share a few curious sniffs, making the most of their unexpected playdate.
Fortunately, the entire encounter was captured on a security camera, which is great because it’s the kind of event that’s hard to believe without proof. Thankfully, neither the dog nor the bear was injured during their playful interaction.
