Donald Trump Jr. recently completed the purchase of northern Maine hunting land in a transaction valued at $1.39 million, which closed earlier this month.
The deal involves several hundred acres in Crystal and Island Falls, a prime hunting area known for moose, deer, and bear populations. The exact acreage remains unclear in the official records.
The sale comes just after the November 5 election, in which Trump’s father, Donald Trump, was returned to the White House. It is particularly noteworthy as it involves the family of state Rep. Austin Theriault, a Republican and former NASCAR driver who narrowly lost to U.S. Rep. Jared Golden in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District race.
The land was previously owned by TNT Holdings LP, a company run by Theriault’s father, Steve Theriault, who is involved in the logging and trucking industries in the region.
The transaction was facilitated by a Florida-based company formed earlier this month, with Trump Jr. listed as a principal.
This company also includes individuals linked to Michael Liberty, a real estate developer who was pardoned by former President Trump in 2021. Liberty’s pardon addressed charges related to campaign finance violations and securities fraud.
Trump Jr. is known for his passion for hunting and has hunted in the region before, including a 2022 moose hunt.
His business involvement also includes lawyer Anthony Fratianne, who works with the Liberty family, as well as Liberty’s son, George Liberty.
Steve Theriault expressed his family’s hopes that the Trumps will create many happy memories in the land, which has long been part of the Theriault family’s history.
However, it remains unclear whether Austin Theriault was directly involved in the sale.
