FBI Offers $25,000 Reward for Information on Ballot Box Arson in Washington and Oregon

Federal authorities are investigating a series of arson incidents involving ballot boxes in Washington state and Oregon during early voting in October, offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s identification, arrest, and conviction.

The FBI reports that three ballot box fires occurred in Vancouver, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, on October 8 and October 28. In each instance, the suspect reportedly used an improvised incendiary device.

The FBI released surveillance footage showing a vehicle believed to be involved, described as a dark-colored early 2000s Volvo S-60 sedan with dark wheels, a light interior, and a fraudulent temporary Washington license plate on the rear.

The suspect is described as a white male, 30-40 years old, with thinning hair, possibly skilled in metalwork or welding.

Investigators noted that the incendiary devices bore markings such as Free Gaza and Free Palestine, though it remains unclear if this reflects the suspect’s personal views or an attempt to exploit current political tensions.

The FBI encourages anyone with information to come forward as they work to apprehend the suspect and ensure the security of ballot drop boxes amid heightened concerns about election integrity and public safety.
