Harvey Weinstein Diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Amid Ongoing Legal Battles

Harvey Weinstein has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia, a form of bone marrow cancer, according to NBC News. Weinstein’s spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, expressed deep concern over the public speculation regarding his medical condition, emphasizing that these private health matters should not be subjects of public discourse.

Weinstein, who was recently seen in a Manhattan court in September, was in a wheelchair after undergoing heart surgery. His lawyer, Arthur Aidala, noted that Weinstein almost died following this emergency procedure.

Additionally, Weinstein had been hospitalized earlier this summer for various health issues, including diabetes, and faced complications from Covid and double pneumonia.

In April, the New York Court of Appeals overturned Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction, stating that the inclusion of testimonies from additional accusers had prejudiced his case. A retrial was initially set for November but is now anticipated to take place in early 2025.

Despite numerous allegations stemming from the #MeToo movement, Weinstein continues to deny any wrongdoing.
