Jake Harvath’s Epic Ride Across 25 States to Support Wild Horse Adoption

Jake Harvath, a Utah resident, has returned home after an incredible journey across the country on horseback. His goal? To raise awareness about the Bureau of Land Management’s wild horse adoption program.

For 14 months and 10 days, Jake traveled with his three horses, covering about 6,000 miles. Starting in Heber City, Utah, he rode all the way to the Atlantic Ocean in New Jersey and back, passing through 25 states.

“I wanted people to see these wild horses the way I do,” Jake said. “This journey was about inspiring others to care for and adopt these amazing animals.”

Back home, Jake’s family, including his father, Daniel Harvath, welcomed him with pride and relief.

“It’s a mix of emotions—proud, happy, and relieved,” Daniel said.

The journey was not just about the miles traveled but the awareness it created. Jake shared his experiences with wild horses, hoping to inspire others to follow their dreams.

“Don’t be afraid to chase your dreams,” Jake encouraged. “If it feels scary, it’s probably because it’s worth it.”
