In his recent analysis, Jon Ralston, the editor of the Nevada Independent and a respected political expert, predicted that Vice President Kamala Harris will narrowly win Nevada in the upcoming election, with a margin of just three-tenths of a percentage point.
Despite Donald Trump holding a significant early lead of approximately 43,000 votes, Ralston expressed confidence in the Democratic Party’s ability to mobilize voters and close the gap.
In a blog post published on Monday, Ralston pointed out that Nevada’s Democratic infrastructure has successfully secured victories in the last four presidential elections, suggesting that they will effectively utilize mail-in ballots, which can still be counted if postmarked by Election Day.
He elaborated on his prediction during an appearance on MSNBC, emphasizing the competitiveness of the race and the possibility of a recount due to the slim margin he anticipates.
While acknowledging the uncertainty inherent in close races, Ralston remains optimistic about his forecast, stating, I always hope I’m right.
He also noted that while an automatic recount isn’t triggered by such a narrow margin, it is likely that a recount would be requested if the results are as close as he predicts.
