Long Beach Chase Ends in Crash: Two Sheriff’s Deputies Injured

Two sheriff’s deputies were injured, with one of them being taken to the hospital, after a chase ended in a crash in Long Beach overnight.

The pursuit involved a suspect wanted for assaulting a police officer with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. It started around 4 a.m. in Compton and continued into Long Beach, where the suspect’s vehicle crashed on Atlantic Boulevard, north of the 91 Freeway.

Following the crash, one of the sheriff’s vehicles collided with an island and a tree.

Two deputies were injured, and one of them required hospitalization. The severity of their injuries is currently unknown.

Authorities apprehended up to four suspects in connection with the chase. It’s not clear if any of them sustained injuries.
