Massachusetts Man Arrested for Fentanyl and Cocaine Trafficking in Multi-State Investigation

A dangerousness hearing took place on Friday for a man from Bristol County, Massachusetts, after a drug trafficking investigation led to his arrest.

Massachusetts State Police say that in May and June, a team focused on reducing drug trafficking started looking into a suspected operation. They discovered that 33-year-old Jason Hodo from Taunton was selling large amounts of fentanyl and cocaine in Rhode Island and parts of Massachusetts.

The investigation involved surveillance, record checks, and gathering information, which led to search warrants for places connected to Hodo.

In June, police followed Hodo after he left a location in Rhode Island and drove to a gas station in Taunton. Hodo was stopped, searched, and arrested when police found fentanyl and cocaine. Authorities then carried out search warrants at his properties in both states.

In Massachusetts, police found about 528 grams of fentanyl, 206 grams of cocaine, and nearly $22,000 from Hodo’s car and person. He was taken to the State Police-Middleboro for booking on charges related to drug trafficking.

In Rhode Island, police found two loaded guns, about 12 grams of fentanyl, nearly $19,000, valuable gold bars, jewelry, and a diamond/gold chain with a receipt showing a purchase of $103,000.

Hodo had previously pleaded not guilty in Fall River Superior Court and was held without bail. On Friday, his dangerousness was still under consideration, and he remained in jail. His next court appearance is a pre-trial conference in February.
