Mississippi authorities are investigating after an abandoned truck was discovered stuck in a creek.
According to the Brookhaven Daily Leader, Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies responded Thursday morning to a report of a blue Ford F-150 in McCall Creek, just north of the old low-water bridge on Zetus Road.
It appears the truck drove off Zetus Road, crossed a gravel bar, narrowly missed steel pylons, and came to a stop on another gravel bar.
Officials found no one in or near the vehicle, but they did find litter and the remains of a campfire nearby. The truck was on private property.
Due to concerns about potential criminal activity and safety, deputies decided to tow the vehicle after failing to reach the property owner.
A passerby with a bulldozer helped pull the truck from the creek. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
