Missouri Governor-Elect Mike Kehoe Sparks Outrage Over Potential Clemency for Killer of Cameron Lamb

The ongoing case of Cameron Lamb’s death, which has become a painful part of his family’s life for over five years, has taken another emotional turn. Former KCPD officer Eric DeValkenaere, convicted for the 2019 killing of Lamb, is serving a six-year prison sentence.

However, Missouri Governor-elect Mike Kehoe’s recent statement about potentially shortening DeValkenaere’s sentence has stirred significant outrage in Lamb’s family, especially since Kehoe has emphasized his belief that DeValkenaere received an unjust sentence from a woke prosecutor.

The Lamb family, still grieving the loss of Cameron, has expressed deep distress over Kehoe’s words, questioning how such a decision could be made in light of the suffering they continue to endure.

Laurie Bey, Cameron’s mother, revealed that their family has refrained from traditional holiday celebrations, like putting up a Christmas tree, due to the profound impact of the loss.

Kehoe’s office clarified that any actions taken would be based on the conviction being unjust rather than personal relationships with DeValkenaere’s family.

Nevertheless, this has not alleviated the family’s pain. Aqil Bey, Lamb’s stepfather, emphasized that their faith in the justice system is shaken, but their hope remains grounded in their faith, with trust in a higher power rather than political figures.

As the state considers clemency, the Lamb family is pleading for justice, stating that the law must apply equally to everyone, regardless of status or relationships.

The family remains steadfast in their belief that their son’s killer should serve his full sentence.
