Earlier this summer, Baldwin was on trial for the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was accidentally shot on the “Rust” movie set in 2021. Baldwin, who was holding the gun that fired the fatal live round, was charged with involuntary manslaughter. He has consistently denied pulling the trigger.
The film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, also faced involuntary manslaughter charges and was found guilty last spring. She is currently serving an 18-month prison sentence, which is under appeal.
During Baldwin’s trial, Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer unexpectedly dismissed the case on its third day after determining that evidence had been suppressed by the prosecution.
