OAKLAND, Calif. – A verbal argument led to a shooting in Oakland that left four people injured, the Oakland Police Department reported.
On Saturday at around 9 a.m., a ShotSpotter alert went off near the 1600 block of 83rd Avenue, and the police were alerted to a possible shooting.
When officers arrived, they found four people with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to help, two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and the other two were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Preliminary reports suggest that during a heated argument, someone pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, hitting the victims.
The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
The names of the victims are being kept private until their families are notified.
