Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders recently criticized Vice President Kamala Harris over her lack of biological children.
During a town hall event in Flint, Michigan, Sanders suggested that her own children help keep her humble, implying that Harris, who has two stepchildren from her husband Doug Emhoff’s previous marriage, lacks that grounding influence.
The crowd reacted to Sanders’s comments with boos directed at Harris.
This criticism reflects a broader pattern seen among some Republicans, including vice presidential nominee JD Vance, who have disparaged Democratic figures without biological children.
Vance, for instance, has called out childless cat ladies in the Democratic Party, claiming that their perceived lack of personal fulfillment influences their political views negatively.
Vance has even proposed that parents should receive additional votes based on the number of children they have.
Interestingly, Sanders signed legislation in Arkansas last year to simplify the hiring process for children, which contrasts with her recent remarks about childless political figures.
