Early Sunday morning, nine people were shot at a party in Philadelphia, with three of them dying from their injuries. The shooting happened around 2 a.m. on North Alden Street in the Carroll Park neighborhood. The party had over 100 people there.
When police arrived, they found people who had been shot and many spent bullet casings on the ground. It looked like there were several shooters involved. Police counted between 25 and 30 spent shell casings but are not sure how many people were shooting.
At first, police thought ten people were shot, but later they confirmed that nine people were shot. One gun was found at the scene.
The shooting seems to have happened because of an exchange of gunfire between different groups of people. Police are still trying to figure out who was involved and have not made any arrests. They haven’t released the names of the people who died yet.
The three men who were killed were ages 23, 29, and 33. One died at the party, and the other two were taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. The other victims included a 26-year-old woman and five men between the ages of 26 and 30, all of whom are in stable condition. Two of the survivors went to the hospital in private cars.
