Georgia has many cities that are great to live in, and USA TODAY recently highlighted the best ones in the state. One of the top cities is in the Augusta area.
The USA TODAY Homefront research team evaluated 32 cities using 16 different factors. Evans ranked 2nd overall, making it one of the top five cities. Some of the factors considered were walkability, school ratings, available activities, and unemployment rates.
Evans stood out for its amenities like Evans Towne Center Park and its access to the Savannah River. It also has the lowest crime rate among the 32 cities and a low unemployment rate of just 2.5%. Additionally, Evans has top-rated schools, with NeighborhoodScout giving them a 9 out of 10 rating. The city is also affordable, with home values being just over three times the median household income.
Augusta ranked 20th on the list, with no other local cities making the cut.
Kennesaw took the No. 1 spot overall, thanks to its excellent access to medical care, a large number of restaurants and activities, and a low unemployment rate. The rest of the top five cities are Albany (3rd), Duluth (4th), and Valdosta (5th).
